As someone who loves meat, Miacucina, sure knows how to make a vegetarian meal delicious and filling. This restaurant proves that vegetarian dining is not about simply eating plants, but also eating well, regardless of whether meat is in it or not. In Miacucina, there were lots of substitutes for the regular meat that was expected out of the meal. While it is delicious, it is more on the pricey side, so make sure you have enough money on you.
When I went with my friends, it was the last day of school and we were tired and hungry. At around 5:30, we went to the mall and put in a reservation at 6 because we wanted to walk around the mall first. The waiter was kind and the overall customer service was good throughout the meal. As someone who pays attention into detail, Miacucina’s water is special. It has a crispiness and freshness to it.
After I enjoyed the water, we got on to ordering the meal, which was kind of a hard choice because they were all eye-catching on the menu. For appetizers, there was cinnamon apple squash soup. It was a good start to the meal.

Marcus enjoyed the soup, although he thought the squash had a slightly sour note at the bottom of the bowl that caught him by surprise. In this meal, you could tell that we love burrata cheese. The salad was the first that was served and we were practically fighting for it. The arugula had a nutty flavor to it that paired well with the figs.

It was one bite of milkiness from the burrata, sweetness and freshness from the figs, and tanginess from the sauce. It was a great appetizer and I would definitely get it again. The other item we got that had burrata cheese was the burrata pesto pasta.

The pesto sauce was enhanced with the thickness of the burrata. There were pine nuts inside, so beware if you are allergic to it. There was a generous amount of shredded cheese on top that made it even more creamy. I personally think there was a little too much sauce, but it was mouth-watering nevertheless.
The cheese sandwich was so rich and buttery. The bread was made out of sourdough and it was toasted to perfection. There was not a cheese pull like I anticipated

but the contrast between the crispy toast and warm cheese is a staple for a comfort meal. Furthermore, putting the egg in between the sandwich made it have more contrast because the egg had crispy edges and an explodable egg yolk. Another dish was the burger, which is traditionally used with meat. However, they substituted meat with a plant-based meat where you could not tell it was not real meat. It was paired well with avocado, cheese, tomato, and a sunny-side-up egg that made it a balanced meal.

One thing to note was the cheese that could’ve been more melted like it was on the menu picture. The bun was toasty, which shows effort made into the entire meal. In both of these dishes, the side was the french fries, and they were the best fries I have had in a while. They were perfectly crispy and clean that did not taste greasy at all. Additionally, it was not too salty. Each bite had a clean crunch on the outside and a fluffy interior. While there was a truffle sauce to go with the fries, I preferred tasting its natural flavors that were already good without the sauce.
The two other dishes were from another hang out a while ago at the same restaurant. There, I tried the shakshuka and my friend Sophie had the Super Buddha Protein Bowl, which is another regular order for me.

It was my first time trying shakshuka, and for me, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought. The sourdough was amazing per usual, but I think it was the texture of
chickpea that threw me off. I think I would’ve preferred other variations of it though.
Regardless, the poached egg added a creamy richness that balanced the sourdough's slight tang. The Super Buddha Protein Bowl is something I often get on UberEats.

ThisThis time, when Sophie ordered it, they still offered ranch, but now when I order it, it’s a sauce similar to BBQ dressing but more watery. Still, it tied all the ingredients in the bowl well. My favorite part of this is the fried tofu and purple rice. The purple rice has a sweetness to it that is complemented with the ranch and the other dressing. The fried tofu is a little sweet but spicy and adds a satisfying bite to the dish. Overall, this dish has a variety of texture from the soft quinoa to crunchy cashews to the melting of avocado in your mouth that makes it a flavorful meal.
Miacucina is a terrific choice for wanting to eat healthy and staying away from processed food. Everything was delectable and I definitely recommend the Super Buddha Bowl, their fries, and anything with burrata. It was a worthy meal to end the memorable school year and that hang out was so fulfilling and marked an end to us being freshmen.
